Midland residents injured in Hwy. 400 crash

Driver, passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries in collision Wednesday morning

Two Midland residents were injured in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday in Georgian Bay Township.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP responded shortly before 6:30 a.m. to the collision on Highway 400 South between Hidden Glen Road and Joe King’s Road. The vehicle had left the highway, entered a ditch, struck a rock and landed upside down on a guardrail.

The 36-year-old female driver and 38-year-old male passenger were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver has been charged with a Highway Traffic Act offence. Police have not indicated what the specific charge was, but, in a news release, they reminded motorists to check their “vehicle tires and mechanical fitness before heading out on the roadway.”
