A complaint from a concerned citizen has led to impaired-related charges being laid against a Midland resident.
At about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, Southern Georgian Bay OPP responded to a report of a possible impaired driver on Young Street in Midland.
Shannon Hitchman, 34, has been charged with operation while impaired (alcohol and drugs) and operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus).
The accused was released from custody and has a Sept. 21 court date. The driver’s licence will be suspended for 90 days and the vehicle will be impounded for seven days.
