The deaths of two people killed in a Boxing Day fire in Tottenham have been ruled as homicides.
Nottawasaga OPP confirm the deaths of 48-year-old Adrienne Nesich and her nine-year-old son, Matteo, were not related to the fire.
Nottawasaga OPP were called to conduct a wellness check at a home on Pyne Hills Court in New Tecumseth shortly after 5:40 p.m. on Dec. 26, at which point they requested the assistance of New Tecumseth Fire Rescue and Emergency Services.
Two people were found dead inside the home; one other person was taken to hospital and was later pronounced dead.
OPP Const. Cindy Jacome said this is an isolated incident and police have no additional information to release at this time.
A pair of GoFundMe pages started by family members to raise money for Nesich's older son, who was not home at the time of the fire, have since raised nearly $75,000 combined.
