It is with deep sadness that the family of Dorothy Tigwell announces her peaceful passing at the Georgian Bay General Hospital, in Midland, Ontario, on Friday, May 7, 2021 in her 90th year. Beloved wife to the late Bernard Tigwell "Tig". Dorothy will be forever loved and remembered by her children Sandy Yonge (Chuck), Kevin (Sylvia) and Rob (Evelyn) and her late son Dick (Jo). Adored grandma of John (Sin Da), Chris, Matthew, Bill, Kathleen, Mackenzie (Channing), Sabrina, Laura (Lucas), Mollie and Tamara and great grandchildren Jenna and Mila. Loving sister to Bill Alderson (Irma) and predeceased by Allan Hopper, Betty Best and June Bridgen.
Dorothy was a special lady, kind and caring with a great love of cooking and trying new recipes. She enjoyed sailing on Georgian Bay with Tig for many years prior to her husbands passing. Dorothy enjoyed time with friends including trips to the theater and card nights. Cremation has taken place and a family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations to the Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Penetanguishene Funeral Home.
