It is with great sadness that the family announces that Art passed away peacefully on May 6th 2024, in his 85th year at his residence in Georgian Village.
Art was a longtime business owner of Stewart’s TV repair in Penetanguishene for 50 years. He was a member of town council and county council for over 20 years, and warden of Simcoe county for a full term. Art loved to play the bagpipes and was a longtime member of the Midland and Penetang Legion’s pipes and drums. He was also a member of the Penetang Legion branch 68 and was actively involved in the community through sports and clubs throughout his life.
In his free time Art loved riding his motorcycle, travelling, hunting, fishing and spending time with friends and family.
Predeceased by his wife of 53 years Billie and his parents Jack and Bernice.
He will be greatly missed by his family. Loving father to his children Wayne (Kim) and Kelly. Affectionately known as Papa to his grandchildren Kaleigh (Josh), Reade (Jesse), Chad, Cody, Derek and Jordan. As well as his great grandchildren Emmett and Quinn.
Art lived a full and happy life and leaves behind a great legacy. We will remember Art for his kindness and his sense of humour. As per his wishes there will be no public funeral. The family will have a private graveside service.
