Eila Salojärvi died peacefully on Friday, December 31, 2021, with family by her side at the Georgian Bay General Hospital, Palliative Care. She is predeceased by her sister Lilian and her parents, Silja and Eino.
Eila was the loving wife to Martti for 55 years, and the warmth they shared is a testament to their adoring relationship. She was a caring and kind mother to Leena (Martin Mällo), Liisa (Gerard Desroches) and Aarne (Christa Folz-Salojärvi). Truly, her passion was being a devoted grandmother to Anneli, Elina, Kristiina, Thomas, Laura, Maija, Janna, Elli, Elora and Caleb.
We hold onto that “wherever a beautiful soul has been; there is a trail of beautiful memories” -author unknown.
Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or the Palliative Care Unit at GBGH. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
