With immense sadness, we announce the passing of Sheila Catherine (Armstrong) Richardson at the age of 82 on March 31, 2024. Sheila was a woman of remarkable grace and resilience, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Sheila shared 50 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband Joe Richardson, and together they raised their cherished sons, Paul and Winston (Makenzie), and celebrated the joy of being grandparents to James. Preceded in death by her parents Thomas Albert (Bert) and Catherine (Cay) Armstrong, as well as her brother Bob (Yvette) Armstrong, Sheila will be lovingly remembered by her sister Sharron (Garry) Newton, along with nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends whose lives she enriched.

Sheila's legacy will be defined by the love she had for her family, her selflessness, clever humor, and fervent passion for sports. As a devoted fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, Raptors and the Marlies, she shared countless memories with her eldest son, attending Marlies games as season ticket holders and cheering on their favorite teams with boundless enthusiasm. Her dedication extended to never missing a single one of her youngest son's baseball games, always a steadfast source of pride and support.

A dedicated teacher by profession, Sheila carried the qualities of patience, creativity, compassion, and attention to detail into every aspect of her life. Her impeccable memory and sharp wit made her a captivating conversationalist, and her genuine interest in others endeared her to all who crossed her path. Sheila also had a profound love for music, playing piano and organ at church, and her passion for music extended to her role as a music teacher at the Toronto District School Board.

Despite residing in Toronto, Sheila held a deep connection to her roots in Port McNicoll and Midland, treasuring every opportunity to return and reconnect with family.

Throughout her courageous battle with Parkinson's disease, Sheila's strength and compassion shone brightly, even in her final months. Her decision to be an organ donor reflects her lifelong commitment to helping others, ensuring that her legacy of kindness continues to impact lives.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Michael Garron Hospital for their exceptional care. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Michael Garron Hospital Foundation are deeply appreciated, honoring Sheila's memory and continuing her legacy of compassion and care.
