August 9, 1929 ~ May 14, 2021 (age 91)

Entered her well deserved eternal rest on Friday, May 14, 2021 at the age of 91. Born August 9,1929 to parents, Franklin and Annie McEachern. She was the youngest of her two predeceased siblings, Francis and Jack.

Edna met Ronald (Bud) Richardson in Midland and they married in 1964.  The couple called many places home over the years from Midland, Fort McMurray, Niagara on the Lake and eventually she made her way back to Midland, the place Edna would call home for many years to come. She was the beloved mother to her seven children, Karl, Kathie (David), Bobbie (Martin), Frank (Janice), Heather (Randy), Danny and predeceased by Christine (Brandon). While Bud worked the ships, Edna raised her children single handedly. It was in these years she found her unwavering  faith in "the good Lord" and found immense comfort in reading her bible. Recalling these times in her life you would never hear her complain, more so, her face would light up with a smile and she would tell a story of how they always managed. Over the years she became a grandmother to nineteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She had a beautiful way of making each of them feel so loved and will be greatly missed by all.

Enda's work ethic was second to none working in the restaurant industry for many years. She was often that friendly smile that would take your order, serve your food and engage in good conversation. At the age of seventy-five she served her last table at Midland Fish and Chips.

Dancing, playing cards and travel were all some of Edna's most loved past times. She spent many Friday and Saturday nights at the Midland or Penetang Legion dancing and socializing with friends. The Legion always had a special place in Edna's heart as she celebrated many milestones in her life there.

The family would like to extend gracious thanks to the staff at Wendat, Georgian Manor and the paramedics. Your kindness and care made a tremendous difference in Edna's last years and moments of her life. At Edna's request there will be no service.

While life didn't  always play Edna's favorite song, she danced to every tune with the same grace. If you would like to honour Edna's memory consider a donation to Midland Legion and of course get up and dance!
