Jacob “Jake” William Reimer

October 14, 1928 - June 24, 2023

Jake, a mild-mannered gentleman of few words but very active and giving to the community, passed away peacefully on June 24th, 2023.

Many people would know Jake through his professional life as the Manager of the Toronto Dominion Bank in Penetanguishene where he ended that long-time career after working in other communities over the years. After retirement, he continued to give freely his many talents to the Penetang Legion Branch 68, Lion’s Club and the Penetang Curling Club to name a few.

His most important role was Dad to the late Patti, Wayne (Claudette) and Karen (Rob); Opa to Scott, Karlie (Melissa), Laura (Dani), and Jeff (Celine); and Big Opa to Cali and Sophie. Remembered by his sister Anne (Myron). Predeceased by his parents and sister Irene (Rocky). He will always be remembered for his favourite fishing spots and his “guaranteed shoal”. The Kap Shack fishing camp, boating, curling, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, water skiing, golfing and always up for his “Georgian bay shrimp” fry parties.

He was well known as the Base drummer for the Penetang Legion Pipes and Drums Band. Playing locally and travelling to parades for Oktoberfest, the Calgary Stampede, Signal Hill Newfoundland, memorials in the Netherlands, Juno Beach and more. Cremation has taken place with a private family service.

A Celebration of Life for Jake will follow in the Fall. The family would like to thank the care providers at the Villa Care Centre, Midland for their excellent, professional and compassionate care. Arrangements entrusted to the Penetanguishene Funeral Home.
