Passed away on August 3, 2023 at Georgian Bay General Hospital in Midland at the age of 86. Tom, born April 28, 1937, was son to the late James and Mary (nee Nicholls) Poppleton and a loving husband to the late Heather Marion Poppleton (nee McArthur). Tom will be missed by brother Bruce and wife Joan (predeceased), sister Mary Ann and husband Ted, and cherished friend, Julie Lamont. After graduating from Barrie Collegiate Institute, Tom pursued a career as an Insurance Broker. He enjoyed reading, cooking and staying on top of world events. He excelled at curling and golf. Friends at his apartment complex remember Tom as a good man. At Tom’s request, a private, family service will be held on a future date at Waubaushene Protestant Cemetery. Cremation has occurred. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Georgian Bay General Hospital are appreciated. Special thanks to the team of 2 North for exceptional and compassionate care during Tom’s last days.
