It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorraine Major of Midland, ON., November 13, 2022 with her family by her side at Georgian Bay General Hospital.
Lorraine was born to the late Emile and Gertrude Major on January 7, 1947. Lorraine is survived by her daughter Rita-Lynn Swiderski (Roy), grandchildren; Peter, Taylor and Jessica Marie and great granddaughter Freyja. She will be fondly remembered by nieces; Marie (Mike), Shelly, Sherry and Angie, nephews; Chris and Zennon. Lorraine was predeceased by her youngest daughter Dayna Young who passed away August 8, 2022, as by her sister Alice Wirtanen (Esko) and her brother Robert Major (survived by Diane).
Mom was often an outspoken advocate for many of the residents of the Villa Retirement Home where she resided. She will be misses by many friends from Thunder Bay, Midland, and Lafontaine. A special thanks to Rachael, Bridget, Joseph, Sarpong and Amanda for the special care and attention that was given to mom during her stay at the Villa. She truly loved you all.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the OSPCA Midland would be greatly appreciated.
