It is with deep sorrow and much love that the family of Murray (Scott) MacCannell announces his passing on January 22, 2022 at the age of 67 years. He will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by his wife Cheryl (nee Megaw), his children Bob (Holly) and Jill, his stepchildren Ryan (Rachel), Michael (Rowena) and Sara (Chad) and his 6 adoring grandchildren; Warren, Josephine, Hayleigh, Thomas, Avery and Levi. Scott was the cherished son-in-law of Robert and Kathleen Megaw and beloved brother-in-law to Rob (Jen) and Kristi (Tony). He leaves behind numerous treasured nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Scott is predeceased by his devoted parents Grant and Fern
(nee Henderson) MacCannell and his grandparents Murray and Ruth Henderson.Growing up in Markham, Ontario, Scott enjoyed an abundantly blessed and lively childhood in the care of his parents and grandparents. In the early 1970s, Scott attended Western University where he obtained a degree in Political Science and Economics, played guitar and made many lifelong friends. Scott went on to trailblaze a successful career in the telecommunications industry, eventually launching several of his own companies and ultimately serving as a trusted mentor to many young entrepreneurs.A true model for living life to the fullest, Scott took joy in traveling much of the world with Cheryl, attending countless concerts and spending time at the family cottage where, throughout the years, he shared many rich memories with family and friends. He will be forever remembered for his sense of humour and life-loving laugh, the warmth and generosity he brought to all those around him, his compelling storytelling, his enormous love of music and his larger-than-life spirit. 


A virtual service will be held on Saturday, February 5th at 1 pm.
