Gerard passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 3, 2023, at Hospice Huronia – Tomkins House with his beloved wife Lana by his side, at the age of 69.
Husband, best friend, and life companion of Lana for 37 years. Cherished brother to Christopher (Sharon), Bernice (Doug), Gregory (Louise). Will forever be remembered by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, who loved their Uncle Gerard.
Gerard lived life to the fullest. He always enjoyed special times with family and friends; gourmet cooking and fine drink; playing many different sports; poker with the boys; exploring the world by traveling and RV-ing. Gerard was an avid sports fan and was keenly interested in the news and weather.
He was community minded, volunteering with Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons; Habitat for Humanity; Church Ministry (Lecturer), to name a few. Gerard was a professional engineer (P. Eng.) chemical, who worked as a manager at Procter & Gamble Inc. until he chose early retirement at age 50.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 1:30 pm at St Margaret’s Catholic Church, Midland, ON, followed by interment at St. Margaret’s Cemetery. A reception will then follow at the Midland Golf and Country Club.
