Our dear mother, Irene Lacroix passed away peacefully at the age of 88 surrounded with the love of her family. She has reunited with her husband, the late John Lacroix. Beautiful mother of Linda Merkley (the late Brian), the late Carol Lacroix, Patsy Lacroix, Christine Brooks, Jackie Sibbald (Alex), Joan Lacroix (the late Jerry), John Lacroix (Pauline), and Paul Lacroix (Donna). Beloved grandmother to Arlene, JJ, Cathy, the late Travis, Trevor, Amanda, Melissa, Nick, Cody, and Cortney. Proud great-grandmother to Katelyn, Teagan, Mason, Ellie, Markus, Colton, Cadence, Patrick, and Wesley. Daughter of the late Alcime and Philomene Chrétien. Predeceased by her siblings and their spouses; Rita Dorion (Alfred), Rose Milanese (Charlie), Prosper Chrétien (Irene), and Helen Chrétien. She will be fondly remembered by her sister Jean Dorion (Raymond), her many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Mom was born and raised at Thunder Bay Beach and loved to tell us stories of her younger years. She married the love of her life, but unfortunately became a young widow. She had a talent and passion for various crafts including knitting, quilting and wreath making. This amazing matriarch taught us all the value of love, family, kindness, and strength. We were extremely blessed to have her as our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her sense of humor and quick wit is what will bring a smile to our hearts.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held in the spring, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband.

Mass will be held at St. Anne Church in Penetanguishene at a date yet to be determined.
