It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Lois Knowlton on April 7th 2023 in her 90th year.
Lois is survived by her son David (Alma) and twin daughters Sharon and Shirley as well as 4 grand kids. Lois is also survived by her sister Betty. Predeceased by her husband Doug (1990), her two brothers Roy (2003) and John (2010) and her sister Jean (2017). Lois grew up in rural Ontario and moved to Toronto in 1950 where she worked for General Electric. Lois and Doug were married in 1954 and in 1969 moved their young family to Coldwater.
They bought Manning Crest Hardware and later changed the business to Home Hardware. Lois worked in retail for 3 decades and also worked for the Red Cross. Lois enjoyed traveling and saw all of Canada and most of the US including Alaska as well as Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Mexico, Cuba, St.Thomas, Curacao, Jamaica, Aruba, and of course her many winter trips to Florida. Lois enjoyed many retirement years dancing and dining with friends.
Cremation has taken place, interment at Lakeview Cemetery in Midland. A family gathering will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff a GBGH. Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
