1939 - 2021
John Denis Heaton passed away peacefully at Hillcrest Village Care Centre on August 14, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Beloved husband of Muriel Heaton. Loving father of Fiona Allan (Jim), Sandy Taylor (Dave) and Wendy Heaton. Grandad to Alicia Evans (Derrick), Geoffrey Taylor and Bradley Taylor. Great grandad to Zola Evans.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
John grew up in Wales and came to Canada in 1963. He and Muriel were married in 1966. John was a metallurgical engineer with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, retiring to Midland in 1996.
John lived a full life; his strength of character and determination shone through the challenges he faced with Charcot Marie Tooth Disease (CMT). He was a loving family man who was devoted to his wife and was very proud of his daughters. He enjoyed music, photography, the companionship of his dogs and good food. He was an incredibly kind and patient man with a wonderful sense of humour.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hillcrest Village Care Centre for the loving care and kindness that John received in his final years. Service and celebration of life will take place at a later date.
