1941 - 2021
Remi Hamelin passed away at the Mattawa Hospital on Tuesday July 27, 2021, at the age of 80. He was born in Wyevale, Ontario on June 8, 1941, to Marcel and Delia Hamelin (Pauze). Beloved brother of Homer (predeceased), Prima Dubeau (Ernie, predeceased), Raymond (Marg), Moses (Lori Desjardins) Roger, and Dianne Desroches (Richard).
Beloved husband of the late Eileen (nee Lockhart). Dear father of Shirley Cowdrey, Stanley “Jake” (June) and Sheryn Costello (Chris). Dear grandfather of Calvin, Kenney, Hudson, Sam, and RJ. Remi will also be missed by his loving dog Abbey.
Also predeceased by his wife Gayle (nee Cameron). Dear step-father to Cathay (Mike) Moreau, Darcy (Aggie) Duquette, Kerry Duquette and Jamie (Shelly) Duquette. Dear step-grandfather to eight and great-step-grandfather to nine. He will be lovingly remembered by many cousins, friends, and extended family.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Lonnie and Christine for their kind and compassionate care over the last few years. Many thanks to the incredible staff at the Mattawa Hospital for the kindness, care and support that was provided for Remi in his final days.
By his request there will be no formal funeral service. Interment at Calvin Township Cemetery.
