Passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at his home on Star Lake, after a long battle fighting prostate cancer.
He is survived by his wife Karen Gillies, his children Neil Michael (Ja), Kate Elva Cooper (Harley), his grandchildren Neil Odysseus, Kanklao and his two sisters Bernice Kolkea and Verna Murray.
Neil retired from the Peel Board of Education in 1996 after enjoying the challenges and opportunities that the Peel Board offered him.
In retirement, he enjoyed doing renovations for people, working on his own cottage and playing with his toys. He and Karen loved riding their bikes and snowmobiles all across the country. He was able to get back to playing bridge and loved learning the new conventions.
Neil was very happy to spend time with his family and friends at Star Lake and looked forward to having them around.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held in the near future
