Passed away peacefully at Georgian Bay General Hospital.

Jim is predeceased by his parents Vernon and Margaret (Coulter), his wife Myrna (Bolster), infants James Arthur and Bobbi Lynn, grandson Joey Patterson and siblings Helen (late Bruce) Knox, Greta, Marilyn (Bill) Walsh and brother Bob.

Jim is survived by his wife Joan (Schirmuly), daughters Sue (Bob) Patterson, Tami Smitten, and sons Steven, Scott and James. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and his special dog Sassy. Jim was born in Barrie, but spent his childhood in Fergus. At 16 he joined the Royal Canadian Navy. Over the next 5 years he sailed on various ships including the Magnificent.

Jim worked at various jobs and entered retirement after years of selling Real Estate in the Midland area. He loved living at Balm Beach, enjoying the water of Georgian Bay; often participating in the PolarBear Dip. His hobbies included photography, music and working on his computer. Cremation has taken place. A service will be held at The Salvation Army at a later date.

A special thanks to the staff on Goldfinch unit at the Villa and the paramedics, Drs. And nurses in Emerg at GBGH. Donations can be made to the Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke, Alzheimer’s or The Salvation Army.
