July 16, 1931 ~ July 17, 2021 (age 90)
Father, grand-father, great-grandfather, Christ follower and a man who meant so much to so many. Vince made it to his 90th birthday, which we celebrated with him at GBGH. Vince was pre-deceased by his wife of over 60 years, Janice (Godard) and is survived by their two children Ruth (Ralph Shareski) and Philip (Jacqueline Potts). He was a very proud Grandpa and Poppa to seven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Vince was involved in music since he learned to play a trombone in the Salvation Army. After their move to Midland in 1978, he was proud to be involved with Barbershop singing, the Serenata Choir, Georgian Bay Brass group, and regularly played alongside Janice at various venues in the Midland area, as well as performing within their church family gatherings.
In recent months Vince received excellent care at the Hillcrest Village Care Center and really appreciated the attention of the staff, enjoying some new friendships with other residents.
Thanks to the great medical staff at GBGH 2 East, who gently cared for him in his final hours. You guys are awesome!
