November 15, 1963 ~ August 1, 2021 (age 57)
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Laura (“Eddie”, “Tadpole”) Edwards, a loving and devoted sister, mother, aunt, and friend to all those lives she touched on August 1, 2021. Laura passed away peacefully after a short but courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her family at Tomkins House – Hospice Huronia. She was in her 58th year.
Spending much of her life in Midland, Ontario, she graduated from Humber College with an Accounting diploma which led to many interesting and challenging positions. She spent the last 15 years as an Accounting Assistant and Quality Control Officer for Laddies Co-Packing Inc. working for her boss and close friend Marc. At the same time, she also ran the family business in Sauble Beach with her two sisters. She enjoyed playing softball, bowling, golfing, colouring her Mandalas, going to the movies (mostly for the popcorn) and the occasional gambling excursion with her friends and family. Most of all, she enjoyed travelling to Florida and visiting Disney World and Universal Studios. She worked tirelessly, devoting her life to her children and the rest of her family.
She was the beloved stepdaughter of Edward Francis, sister of Robert Edwards (Gabe), Sharon Edwards and Elizabeth Edwards (Bob), proud mother of Brandon Sibbet and Katherine Edwards, admired aunt of Danielle and Zack Bailey, Brittany Edwards and Dalton Hill. Predeceased by her loving parents Bob and Diane Edwards.
She was taken from our lives far too early and will be truly missed by all that knew her.
In true Edwards’ fashion, a fireworks show will be held in Sauble Beach on Saturday August 21st at 9:00 PM. A celebration of her life will be held later in the fall in Midland.
