June 15, 2023, Announcing the passing of the love of my life Gordon Israel Beausoleil. Age 80 passed away at GBGH in Midland Ontario after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Gord is survived by his loving wife Margaret Loomer Beausoleil, Sons Gary and Kevin, Daughter Kimberley, Step Son Jeffery Loomer, Step Daughter Angela Alexander (Don), Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, many Nieces and Nephews, Brothers Roger (Debbie) and Leo (Edna), Sisters Cecile Clarke, Brother in law Brian Simpson. He was predeceased by his parents Omer and Stella Beausoleil, Brothers Allan and Robert and Sisters Betty Ann Ladquceur and Elaine Simpson.
Gord started his career on the Keewatin then on to RCA. Spent most of his working career as owner and operator of Huronia Satellite. In his younger life he enjoyed boating, fishing, snowmobiling and cottage life. Later in life his love was travelling in his motorhome across Canada and throughout many American states, usually spending six months outside of Ontario. The last few years spending weekends at local campouts with musical friends.
Gord was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humour. He was loyal, brave, clever and full of knowledge gained through all of his life experiences. He could fix or build anything. When his time came he carried himself with dignity and strength.
Death is a stage of life that we have to learn to accept and continue with one’s own life. I feel so blessed to have found comfort in friendships, tears, kindness, and condolences from my friends and family. Gord will be truly missed.
