It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved sister Eden Beardsall (nee Morrison) on May 18th 2021.

Eden was predeceased by her husband James (Jim). She leaves a huge hole in the hearts of her brother, Kirk (Debra deceased), sister Anna (Reg) and her niece Kirstin (Rob), as well as Jim's family, Delores (John), Brenda (John), Raymond (Tami) Susie (Jules) and June (John deceased). She also leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews on Jim's side. Eden taught for the Simcoe County Board of Education for over 30 years, starting in Collingwood and then teaching in schools in Midland, Victoria Harbor and Penetanguishene.

She loved this career and left behind many fond remembrances of these years. During her teaching career she was active in the Federation of Women Teachers' of Ontario. After her retirement in 1989 the family said she went to the dogs. She turned her attention to volunteering to teach obedience lessons with the Midland District Kennel and Obedience Club. Her goal was to make sure that every dog became the companion that would have a forever home. She left her mark with parades and the Marching Dogs. Eden's love was the Labrador retrievers that were her companions over the years.

Because of them she became a founding member of the Georgian Bay Hunting Retriever Club and spent many hours out in the field training her dogs and competing in hunt test and field trials. For many years Eden has been a member of the board of directors of the M-T-M Conservation Association. Her passion became the seasonal pheasant hunt which raises funds for the management of Matchedash and Tiny Marshes as well as Marle Lake in Wasaga Beach. Eden took great pleasure in meeting and talking to the hunter and got great joy in watching the various pointing and flushing breeds. She spent six days a week, with her lab, Huggie, monitoring the hunt making sure the rules were followed and everyone had a safe and successful hunting experience. Huggie even got to hunt with the fellows who didn't have a dog to help them find the birds.

As one hunter put it she was both mother and mentor to the group. Eden touched the lives of some many over the years that it is impossible to mention them all. She will be greatly missed by family, friend and acquaintances. She never met a person or dog she didn't like. If desire donations to the M-T-M  Conservation Association Wyevale or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

A celebration of life will be held once restrictions have be lifted. Arrangements entrusted to Nicholls Funeral Home.

Goodbye my best friend and sister ever.
