September 25, 1940 ~ April 6, 2021 (age 80)
Robert John Armstrong (Bob) died peacefully at his home in Midland on April 6, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was 80 years old. Bob was predeceased by his wife Sharon Armstrong (nee Lapish). He is survived by his son Scott, his daughter Monique (Gavin), his sister Roberta, and his grandchildren Kate, Jill, Jonny, Sam and Ben. As a teacher, coach, barbershop quartet and chorus singer, and friend to so many on the golf course, lawn bowling green, and walks around town, Bob and his smile, hearty laugh, and Tilley hat will be missed.
Fittingly, on his last night of watching his beloved teams compete, he saw the Jays, Raptors, and Leafs all win in entertaining style. A celebration of his life, and greatest highlights of his career will be hosted in Midland once it is safe to gather together. For those looking to do so, in lieu of flowers, a donation could be given in Bob's name to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
