A public consultation meeting of Tay council is being held at 6:30 p.m. tonight, prior to regular council, in hope that residents will provide input in preparation of the 2022 budget.

“The township encourages all residents, community members and stakeholders in Tay Township to have their say on the 2022 Budget Consultation,” said CAO Lindsay Barron.

“Public engagement is an important step in helping council and staff determine what kind of community all of our residents want to live in. It provides valuable insight to council and staff about what services are important to our residents and where they want their tax dollars to go.“

In addition to the meeting, a public engagement survey will be available until September 13, both online and in hardcopy at the Tay Municipal Office located at 450 Park Street.

“Township staff actively listen, record and review all public engagement feedback,” said Barron. “This input from our community helps guide decision making and allows the township to better meet the needs of the community.”

As per COVID-19 regulations set out by the province, the public consultation meeting will be held virtually through the Zoom platform or by telephone at (705) 999-0385.

Information on joining the public consultation meeting can be found on the meetings page of the Tay website.

Community members and stakeholders are encouraged to complete the public engagement survey online at the input page of the Tay website.
