The following letter is in response to Midland council's decision to choose a developer for the Midland Bay Landing site, something that was also addressed in a recent column.

Dear editor,
Plans for the Midland harbour must not be for the wealthy but for everyone in our area.
No new waterfront is available so we must not make a mistake by building condos there as the majority of our population want and need green space, which also attracts tourists.
Do the right thing for all now as once the shovels are in the ground it will be too late. Future generations are depending on us to think of them as well.
