The following letter is in reponse to an article about a Penetanguishene couple being forced to remove folk art from their property, published April 23.

I moved up here from Toronto about two-and-a-half years ago. I’m noticing that the majority of people who live here complain about nonsense. I’m also noticing that the township office goes along with it.

I work with women who are homeless or facing homelessness. You’d think the towns of Penetanguishene and Midland would care more about those issues instead of complaining about someone’s art. It baffles me. The amount of entitlement people seem to have here is maddening.

Someone having art on their property should be a non-issue. It’s not hurting anyone. I wish people would mind their business, and actually complain about real issues facing Penetanguishene and Midland.

In closing, this is just my perspective as an outsider from the city.
