Dear Mr. Trudeau,

Our towns and cities across the country are under financial stress, as their resources to support the homeless are disappearing.

They all plan tax increases to resolve the issues, but tax increases act in the same manner as rent increases encouraging more homelessness.

I would like to know why the inflation rate calculation method has not progressed with changing times to reflect today’s circumstances.

Housing prices, rent increases tripled across the country, but were not included in the inflation calculation. These things affect inflation rates even more than the basket of goods and services that is used for the calculation.

The true inflation rate might be 20%. It is time to change and forget calculating hamburgers.

Tax increases affect inflation rates as well.

All our towns and cities across the country are facing huge costs to upgrade their infrastructure like wastewater and potable water treatment plants because of our population growth.

They are struggling to get the homeless some shelter spending millions on hotel rooms.

This is just another side effect of the government’s federal immigration policy's short-sightedness in not planning for their arrivals.

The federal government must take responsibility for the mess it has caused.
