What a grand opportunity for the community to have open space parkland on Georgian Bay.

From what I have read and the little I have seen, there is far too much structural development whether residential, commercial or otherwise. The 25% public area will simply and largely be taken up by the waterfront trails being considered.

The structural components should be scaled back so as to allow for more pockets of large open green spaces that bring the public to Georgian Bay, perhaps developed similarly to the highly popular children’s waterfront play park in Penetanguishene as an example.

When I look at our neighbouring municipalities of Orillia, Barrie, along with Penetanguishene they have done a terrific job of bringing the public to extensive active and passive waterfront parks.

Midland is a beautiful town with so much to offer but is sorely missing opening Georgian Bay to the community. We need more than simply walking or biking by it.

I fully understand the opportunity for substantial development revenues, but at what cost to the people of the good ship Midland. There are already numerous condo developments on just about every piece of vacant land that will bring forth significant revenues.

The current plan is dated and should be reconsidered with the community at the forefront.
