MidlandToday’s Rick Gordon delivering a Random Act of Kindness surprise to Ivan Miller

Ivan Miller is a devoted member of the Midland community who spends countless hours volunteering for the Midland Pipes and Drums, the Royal Canadian Legion, the Ladies Auxiliary, and a variety of local events.

Whether he is performing at memorial services or playing for residents at the local nursing homes, Miller hopes to honour and uplift through his piping.

In addition to playing the bagpipes, Miller often lends a helping hand at the Midland Legion Ladies Auxiliary, offering his time to their various fundraisers.

His impact does not stop there. He takes the time to visit local cemeteries, putting up crosses and flags to pay respect to those who have served our country.

“Ivan is always there to help everyone else. Just once, it would be nice to see him recognized for what he does in our community,” said his nominator.

To show our gratitude, MidlandToday delivered a special surprise to Miller, thanking him for all the meaningful work he does for others.

“I was speechless,” said Miller. “Thank you very much to my nominator.”

“Volunteering makes Midland a great place to live,” said Miller. “When people take time to step up and help out, that is what makes Midland such a beautiful town.”

Thank you to our generous co-sponsors, Midland Home Hardware and Phil’s Pub & Eatery, for making this Random Act of Kindness possible.

If you know someone deserving of a Random Act of Kindness, our nomination form is always open for new submissions.
