Wyebridge's Dominion Hotel: 'A fight in the old hotel every night'

Located on northwest corner of Mill Street and the Old Penetanguishene Road, it went through a series of owners

Wyebridge historian Bonnie Reynolds tells us the Dominion Hotel was built in the late 1850s by Hiram Tripp.

Located on the northwest corner of Mill Street and the Old Penetanguishene Road, it went through a series of owners, and it is possible, that one of them would be in the attached J.W. Bald photo.

A detailed photo of the characters in front of the hotel makes for interesting viewing.

There seems to be a delivery from the Elmvale Creamery in the foreground. Closer inspection shows a cast of characters worthy of a spaghetti western.

Howard Lummis, Wyebridge oldtimer long gone, stated, “There was a fight in the old hotel every night.”
