Victoria Harbour person in crisis call resolved peacefully

Officers from Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a call of a person in crisis at a home on Albert Street in Victoria Harbour on the afternoon of Feb. 10, 2022. Attending officers were assisted by members of the OPP Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), K-9 Unit, North Simcoe Crisis Management and Resource Team (CMART), OPP Negotiators and Simcoe County Paramedics.

In regard for the safety of the public, Albert Street was closed for a period of time and nearby residents were asked to shelter in place. At around 5:30 p.m. the incident was resolved peacefully, without injury. The person in crisis was transported from the involved residence to hospital by police.

Members of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment thank community members for their understanding and patience during this investigation.
