Uniforms may soon outnumber bathing suits on Tiny's beaches

TINY TOWNSHIP - Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were out on Saturday, July 25, 2020 conducting foot patrol for liquor infractions in the Lafontaine, Wahnekewening, Cawaja, Balm and Bluewater Beach areas in Tiny Township.

The officers provided 10 hours of foot patrol and vehicle patrol on the roadways to those beach areas making numerous contacts with the public and issuing offence notices as follows:

  • Three tickets for having open liquor in a public place contrary to the Liquor Licence Act
  • Three tickets for vehicle and driver related offences under the Highway Traffic Act

Beach goers are reminded to obey Tiny Township Bylaws, practice social distancing and take note that it is an offence under the Liquor Licence Act to have or consume alcoholic beverages on the beaches as well as any other public place.
