An e-bike operator has been sent to hospital with serious injuries as a result of a collision last evening.

On May 18, 2024 just after 6:30 p.m., members of the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched, along with Simcoe County Paramedics, to an address on Concession 19 East in Tiny Township.

On arrival, bystanders were providing life saving measures to the injured party who was then transported to a local hospital. Officers investigating the incident learned that the person involved in the collision, a 67-year-old-male from Tiny Township, was operating an e-bike on a private property during a family gathering when he fell to the ground. There were no other vehicles involved.

Due to the severity of the injuries suffered, the OPP Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit (TTCI) attended the scene to investigate. The cause of the collision has not yet been determined.
