Tiny man charged with impaired driving

TINY TWP – Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report at 10:55 p.m. July 23, 2020 from a motorist of a possible impaired driver on Balm Beach Road heading towards the village of Perkinsfield.

An OPP officer on patrol nearby located a vehicle matching the provided description and stopped it at 11 p.m in Perkinsfield. The officer spoke with the lone driver and entered into a drinking and driving investigation resulting in Travis Murray, 31 years, of Tiny Township being charged with the following driving offence:  

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days as per the conditions of the Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS). Accused was released from police custody on an undertaking to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on Sept. 24, 2020.

OPP officers always appreciate the assistance of the public in the interest of public safety who help remove impaired drivers who present a clear danger to others on the roadway. OPP officers remind drivers that they will be taking all precautions available during this time to protect themselves and others while conducting investigations either at the roadside or at detachment.
