Police charged 10 people and “educated” 15 more while patrolling area snowmobile trails during the Family Day weekend.
Southern Georgian Bay OPP officers were on the lookout for signs of impairment, valid registration, proof of insurance, and more.
“Officers were also having an ear for modified exhaust systems and an eye for sleds trespassing on closed trails or farmers’ planted fields as these two issues are well known to raise the ire of landowners and neighbours to busy trail routes,” police said in a news release.
Eighty-eight snowmobiles were checked over the weekend.
