Springwater woman, 42, dies after kayak overturns in Tiny Marsh

Police say they were unable to revive the woman en route to the hospital

TINY TOWNSHIP - On July 15, 2020 at 4:54 p.m. members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, County of Simcoe Paramedic Services and Tiny Township Fire Services responded to a 911 call reporting a female had disappeared into the waters of the Tiny Marsh while kayaking.

Members of the Tiny Township Fire Services were able to locate and remove the female with vital signs absent from the water near her over turned kayak.

Sadly, emergency services personnel at the scene and on the way to Georgian Bay General Hospital were not able to revive her and the 42-year-old female of Springwater Township was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The Coroners office has been contacted and an autopsy will be conducted at a future date to assist into the cause of death in this continuing investigation.
