Robbery, weapon charges laid following incident Wednesday in Alliston

Police have released details about the three people arrested and the charges they’re facing following an incident Tuesday in Alliston.

Shortly before 3 a.m. on Feb. 27, Nottawasaga OPP attempted to pull over a vehicle, but the driver fled. Police later located the vehicle and arrested three people.

Kevon Williams, 23, of Scarborough, has been charged with robbery using a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, break and enter a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence, trespassing by night, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and flight from a police officer.

Ismal Tumba, 19, of North York, has been charged with robbery using a firearm, possession of a firearm while prohibited, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, break and enter a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence, trespassing by night, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and mischief.

A 17-year-old from Toronto, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, break and enter a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence, trespassing by night, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Williams and Tumba are being held in custody pending a court appearance in Barrie.

The investigation was undertaken by the Nottawasaga OPP Major Crime Unit, with assistance from the OPP Central Region Canine Unit, Emergency Response Team, Tactics and Rescue Unit, Forensic Identification Services, Regional Support Team, and the Urban Search and Rescue, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives Response Team.
