The Southern Georgian Bay Ontario Provincial Police detachment has issued a reminder to area residents on the heels of a number of calls reporting property being stolen from unlocked vehicles.
The thefts happen during the night hours from vehicles parked at Midland homes.
Police say the thefts can also lead to fraud investigations where the credit cards of victims are used.
With investigations continuing, police remind citizens to not leave valuables like wallets, purses, and other valuables in vehicles and to make sure the vehicles are locked to prevent crimes of opportunity from happening.
