Southern Georgian Bay OPP ticketed six boaters for not having sufficient life-jackets and charged one with impaired operation between Sept. 8 and 12.

Officers checked 35 vessels during that time. Three people received tickets for other violations of the Canada Shipping Act and one was ticketed for a liquor violation.

Six vessel operators who had been drinking were given screening tests and passed. Another boater, a 58-year-old Tiny Township resident, was charged with impaired operation of a vessel in Penetang Bay.
