Penetanguishene man charged with attempted murder

A Penetanguishene man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident Monday in Balm Beach.

At about 11:15 p.m., Southern Georgian Bay OPP responded to a residence in the Tiny Township community after paramedics were dispatched to a report of an injured male.

The victim was taken to a local hospital before being airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries “caused by an edged weapon,” police said in a news release.

Jake Taylor, 33, has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault. He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Police said there is no threat to public safety.
