A man is facing assault and theft charges following an incident Aug. 3 at Balm Beach.
At about 2:30 p.m., Southern Georgian Bay OPP responded to the report of a man “causing problems for beach goers” at the waterfront in the Tiny Township community, according to a news release.
Police said the man also stole from a store located along the beach.
While the suspect was being arrested, there was “an interaction” between him and police.
A 30-year-old Penetanguishene man, whose name has not been released, has been charged with theft under $5,000 (shoplifting), possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, assaulting a peace officer (two counts), uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm (two counts), and uttering threats to damage property (three counts).
