Tiny Township man, 39, killed in early morning crash: OPP

Passing motorist attempted to assist occupant of vehicle but was unable to due to position of the car, police said

TINY TOWNSHIP – Police say a man has died after a crash in the early morning hours earlier today.

At about 3:30 a.m., members of the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received a call from a passing motorist regarding a vehicle in the ditch on Concession Road 9 West, west of Simcoe Road 6 in Tiny Township.

The motorist attempted to assist the occupant of the vehicle however was unable to due to the position of the car, police said in a news release.

One person, a 39-year-old male from Tiny Township, was located in the vehicle and was pronounced deceased, police said.

The collision is believed to have taken place about 2:15 a.m. and no evidence exists to indicate there were any other vehicles involved, according to the OPP.

The roadway was closed to allow for investigation of the scene by OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators, it was reopened in the early afternoon.
