Police rescued a Brockton man from Midland Bay on Tuesday.

At about 8:30 p.m., emergency services responded to a 911 call from someone who reported hearing calls for help. Three Southern Georgian Bay OPP officers used a small aluminum boat from a nearby residence and rode out to the man, who was clinging to a Zodiac vessel attached to a small sailboat about 200 metres from the shore of Gawley Park.

The 61-year-old man was “conscious but very fatigued,” police said in a news release, and he was not wearing a life-jacket. Police grabbed a life-jacket from the Zodiac and put it on the man. He had been in the water for more than an hour.

The man was taken to hospital and later released.
