A man who was reported missing Wednesday has been found dead in Severn Township.
Shortly before 11 p.m., police were contacted about a man who had gone fishing and hadn’t returned home at a scheduled time.
Orillia OPP, the OPP Canine Unit, the OPP Emergency Response Team and OPP Aviation Services searched the area. Family members located the man’s campsite near Burrows Lake but had not seen or heard from him, police said in a news release.
Police found the 71-year-old man dead near his campsite.
The Office of the Chief Coroner is assisting with the investigation, but foul play is not suspected.
