Midland man charged with criminal harassment, voyeurism

Police say there may be other victims

The Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual after allegations a person had been secretly video recorded and harassed.

 On May 27, 2021, officers responded to a harassment complaint at a residence on King Street in Midland. As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was executed upon an apartment on King Street June 8, 2021, with a quantity of digital images being seized.

 Gregory Griffin, age 41, of Midland has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Criminal harassment - repeatedly communicate
  • Criminal harassment - repeatedly follow
  • Criminal harassment - threatening conduct
  • Voyeurism
  • Distribute intimate image without consent
  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court (two counts)
  • Mischief endangering life

The accused remains in custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland at a future date.

Investigators are concerned there may be more victims in the community, it is never too late to report a crime or an assault.
