Man charged for allegedly trafficking drugs into Simcoe County

A Brampton man is facing charges after Orillia OPP seized drugs and other items Wednesday.

Police have arrested a Brampton man who was allegedly trafficking drugs into Simcoe County.

Orillia OPP began the investigation in December and made an arrest Wednesday.

Police seized 124 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 108 grams of suspected fentanyl, 49 grams of suspected cocaine, 13 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 100 assorted pills, two digital scales, two cellphones and one concealed knife.

Elijah Griffiths, 27, has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of an opioid (other than heroin) for the purpose of trafficking, and five counts of failure to comply with a release order.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
