Man charged after stolen property recovered in Penetanguishene

Police seized stolen items while executing search warrant Friday morning

A man is facing charges after police say they seized stolen property Friday morning in Penetanguishene.

At about 7 a.m., a search warrant was executed at a home on Tinney Drive, where police seized property believed to have been stolen from area residences and businesses, Southern Georgian Bay OPP said in a news release.

Police are working to find the owners of the stolen property.

Damon Wright, 21, of Penetanguishene, has been charged with three counts of possession of property obtained by crime and two counts each of possession of property obtained by crime (trafficking) and theft of property.

He was released from custody and is set to appear in court March 14.

Police said more information would be provided as it becomes available.
