Highway 11 crash near Orillia leads to drug, weapon charges

A collision Thursday in Oro-Medonte has led to numerous drug and weapon charges being laid against a Timmins man.

At about 10:20 a.m., emergency crews responded to a crash on Highway 11 North. During the investigation, Orillia OPP seized cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, prescription medications, a prohibited firearm, cash and a cellphone.

Adam Longpre, 40, has been charged with dangerous operation, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, carrying a firearm in a careless manner, having knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed prohibited device, being an occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule 4 substance for the purpose of trafficking, and two counts each of possession of cocaine and possession of an opioid.

He is scheduled to appear Friday in Orillia court.
