TINY TOWNSHIP - Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE check stop at the intersection of Concession Road 4 of Tiny Township at Crossland Road when they encountered a Ford pick-up truck being operated by a lone driver.
Upon speaking with the driver, an odour of cannabis initiated an investigation leading to the seizure of two large bags containing over 8 pounds of cannabis.
Charged is Uri Agarunov, 42 years old of Innisfil, with the following offences.
- Possession of over 30g dried cannabis (or equivalent) in a public place contrary to the Cannabis Act
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available contrary to the Cannabis Control Act
- Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available contrary to the Cannabis Control Act
The accused was released from police custody on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Jan. 27, 2022
